LAFH Awards 2026 Celebrates Building Home, Building Community

On Thursday, April 23, LAFH Awards 2026 brought together more than 300 partners, supporters, and new friends at the Skirball Cultural Center in a powerful show of community and commitment to ending homelessness. Guests kicked off the evening with delicious tastings from a standout lineup of local chefs and restaurants, while Jacques Slade emceed the evening’s inspiring program.

Centered around the theme Building Home, Building Community, the event highlighted how LA Family Housing (LAFH) builds more than homes—we build foundations for belonging, connection, and long-term stability that make it possible for individuals and families to leave homelessness behind for good. LAFH participant Marcela’s inspiring journey from homelessness to home highlighted the life-changing impact of LAFH’s work. The evening culminated in heartfelt recognition of two honorees for their commitment to end homelessness— Lisa and Josh Taub and the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation—both of whom exemplify how sustained generosity builds home, community, and a true sense of belonging for the people we serve.

Thanks to overwhelming generosity, LAFH Awards 2026 raised more than $1.3 million to help more families move into stable and safe homes of their own!

This annual event honors those driving meaningful change across the region, while spotlighting both the progress and ongoing challenges in addressing homelessness. In her remarks, Stephanie Klasky-Gamer, President and CEO of LA Family Housing, underscored the urgency of the moment—noting that while homelessness has declined in L.A. County for the past two years, this progress is at risk of being undone.

“The government funding streams that once powered progress in ending homelessness are shrinking or shifting. Experts warn that these changes could drive up homelessness at the very moment our communities are asking us to do more. It is more important than ever that we come together to sustain and scale the solutions we know work,” said Klasky-Gamer. “We are grateful to our two honorees —the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation and Lisa and Josh Taub—for their extraordinary leadership and steadfast commitment to building a future where everyone has a place to call home.”

The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, which has partnered with LA Family Housing for more than 20 years, was presented with the 2026 LAFH Legacy Award. The award recognizes the Foundation’s leadership in catalyzing innovative solutions in Los Angeles for decades, including supporting the development of permanent supportive housing across the region and strengthening regional coordination to improve our collective response to people experiencing homelessness.

"While we are honored to receive this award, the results – the lives changed and lasting impact – are all a reflection of LA Family Housing's incredible mission and work. Each success story is a testament to the power of collaboration, and to the dedicated staff who make this possible,” said Linda Hilton, Chair of the Board, when accepting the award on behalf of the Hilton Foundation.

Lisa and Josh Taub of Manhattan Beach were presented with the 2026 LAFH Inspiration Award for their decades-long commitment to LAFH’s programs and the families it serves, and for inspiring and galvanizing their community of family, friends, and neighbors to join them.

Reflecting on their support of LAFH, Josh Taub said: “It taught us something simple: show up. If you can help—even in a small way—you do it. And when you do, it grows.”

Proceeds from the evening will help support LA Family Housing’s work to prevent and end homelessness by providing outreach, interim housing, permanent supportive housing, and wraparound services tailored to each household’s needs.
